Portugal Train Strike Set To Create Major Headaches For Tourists
Comboios de Portugal is offering refunds to affected customers
An upcoming Comboios de Portugal train strike is set to make a major disruption for travelers in Portugal and the rail operator is offering refunds to customers affected by the strike.
“Due to a strike called by the SFRCI union, major disruptions to traffic are expected on April 28, 2025, with an impact on the days before and after,” CP said.
CP reminded “customers who have already purchased tickets to travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Internacional, InterRegional and Regional trains” that it will allow “a refund of the full value of the ticket purchased, or its free exchange for another train of the same category and in the same class,” in a news article about the strike.
This refund or exchange can be made online “up to 15 minutes before the train leaves the customer's station of origin, or at the ticket offices.”
