Caminha And North Portugal Named Best Place For Tourists To Buy Real Estate in 2025
Called the Algarve 30 years ago or Portugal's Silver Coast 20 Years Ago
According to Ronan McMahon, Caminha and Portugal’s North Coast is the best place in the world to buy real estate in 2025.
That’s according to a recent report his team created for his 2025 Real Estate Trend Alert (RETA) International Real Estate Index.
In his ranking, Caminha rates a perfect ten out of ten for relative value and holding costs. He also gives high scores for path of progress, quality of life, stability and availability of bank finance.
Lower scores to be aware of tourists buying Caminha real estate is for income potential and ease and cost of transaction.
In his write up, McMahon said, “Caminha has so much to offer, but like other towns and cities in the far north of Portugal, it remains overlooked and undervalued. But, because these destinations are virtually unknown to foreign tourists, expats, and second home-owners, prices in the region are astonishingly low when compared to the rest of Portugal. Very soon, that will change. This region will be discovered. Prices will soar. But for right now, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity here. It’s as though we have a time machine and can step back to Portugal’s southern Algarve region 30 years ago…or the Silver Coast region between Lisbon and Porto 20 years ago…before the explosion in tourist numbers and real estate prices.”
He also likes the coastal city of Viana do Castelo and the river town of Ponte de Lima.
